Philodendron
PHILODENDRON is a large genus of Tropical flowering plants, Aroids, belonging to the Araceae family, and are the second-largest group after Anthurium. They are native to the tropical rainforests & Jungles of Central and South America & the West Indies. The name Philodendron is derived from the Greek words philo- or "love, affection" and dendron or "tree" describing their love to climb trees.
Philodendron can be broadly divided into Crawling, Climbing or Rosette type varieties, often starting out as compact plants, but as they grow and mature, many develop vining stems with aerial roots for climbing.
The genus is incredibly diverse and depending on species and maturity of the plant, the shape, size, and texture of the leaves can vary considerably. In addition, they exhibit variable leaf morphology having juvenile and adult leaves, which can be drastically different from one another.
