Found and documented fairly recently, by a group on expedition to Sulawesi, Indonesia in 1994. This Hoya was eventually named after the founder and one of the first collectors, Paul Shirley, a grower based in the Netherlands. Hoya ‘Paulshirleyi’ is thirsty and a fast grower, with a twining climbing growth habit. Leaves are quite thick and glossy with thin venation running down the length, which becomes more prominent when the plant is grown in higher light conditions.
Unfortunately no flowers on our mother plant to date, but research proves this to be a prolific ‘bloomer’. Longevity of flowers is relatively short, lasting only a couple of days and are fragrant for only the first few hours. Flowers petals are pink and coronas a darker pink.
Pot size 10cm.
All plants are well established and actively growing.
Available plants are not currently in flower.
